Guest lecture “Opportunities and Challenges in Chemistry ''

Department of chemistry conducted a Guest lecture on “Opportunities and Challenges in Chemistry on 17 October 2023 for Intermediate and UG first year UG students. Sri T. Ravi Kumar, General Manager, Laurus labs,Vishakapatnam was the Speaker. The speaker explained the various opportunities for chemistry graduates especially in the field of pharmaceutical industry. He mentioned that thousands of opportunities are awaiting for chemistry graduates and postgraduates in pharma industry. He also added that India is exporting generic medicine for more than 200 countries.

career guidance

Department of chemistry conducted a career guidance program on 13 October 2023 for the First year UG students. Dr.P. Ramachandra Puranik, Associate Vice-Chairman, Heter Drugs , Hyderabad was the Speaker. During the workshop, the speaker imparted knowledge to the students, emphasising the need for self-awareness concerning their interests, abilities, and aspirations for their education and future profession. He recommended they maintain a systematic approach and exercise sound judgement when selecting a career.

Guest lecture “Relevance of Physical Chemistry “

Guest lecture was conducted by the department of chemistry, Andhra Loyola college on 24th August 2023 from 2 pm to 3.20 pm. Chief guest DR.T. Tirumala Rao Bitra, Senior Scientist, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Department of Atomic Energy, Indore, MP has taken a lecture on “Relevance of Physical Chemistry “ in Seminar hall. A total of 150 students and staff participated in the programme.

The Department of Chemistry has organized guest lecture on “REACTION MECHANISM” by Dr. B.HariBabu, Associate Professor & Director, Directorate of Admissions, Acharya Nagarjuna University on 4th December, 2021.

CHEMCOGNIZANCE 2K21

The department successfully organized “CHEM-COGNIZANCE 2K21” a national level chemistry festival from 29th November to 4th December 2021.

Inaugural Function

The CHEM COGNIZANCE was inaugurated by Sri. Dr. G. Devala Rao Professor & Principal KVSR Siddartha college of Pharmaceutical sciences Vijayawada and he gave an inspirational speech to the participants.

1. Essay Writing (Date:29/11/21): About 60 students participated in essay writing. This event is conducted to check writing skills.

Topic for the event is “Effect of Pandemic on Education”

2.Rapid Titration (Date:30/11/21):

Eighteen students participated in rapid titrations.

3. Organic compound analysis (Date:30/11/21):

Ten students participated in organic analysis. Purpose of this event is to increase laboratory skills in the students

4. Cartoon (Date:01/12/21):

To check creativity related knowledge among students, dept of chemistry organized this event. About 25 students participated and exhibited their views very well in the form of cartoons.

5. Best out of waste (Date:01/12/21):

Eight students participated in Best out of Waste.

6. JAM (Just A Minute) (Date:02/12/21):

Twenty-one students had participated in JAM. Purpose of this event is to improve spontaneity of students. Students are little bit weak in this aspect.

7. Drawing (Date:03/12/21):

Twenty students participated drawing competition, themed on “Water pollution”

8. Brain storming test in Chemistry (Date:03/12/21):

To test the knowledge of students in Chemistry, the department organized MCQs test programme.

Valedictory Function:

The function was honored by Dr.B.HARI BABU, Associate professor & Director, directorate of admissions Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur , with his enlightening speech. The winners of the above events, was awarded with the prizes.
